Supporting Our Local Communities
Community Improvement Projects
We know the best ideas for improving a neighbourhood often come from the people who live there. That's why we're always keen to listen – and ready to lend a hand – to bring those ideas to life. If there's a local project near one of our developments that could benefit the community, we'd love to help make it happen.
Local Events & Charity Support
From local fairs to charity runs, we're proud to back events that bring people together and raise funds for good causes. Whether it's a grassroots initiative or a national campaign, we're happy to offer sponsorship – especially to local charities close to our developments.
Team Oakmere – Making a Difference Together
At Oakmere, over the years, we've tackled mud pits, hiked mountains, cycled coast to coast, and baked a lot of cakes, all for causes close to our hearts. Here's a peek at our fundraising adventures:
Breast Cancer Awareness Day – Think Pink
On Friday 18th October 2024, the office turned a fabulous shade of pink in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Day – a cause tat means so much to us, as it's touched the lives of our own team members.
We baked, we dressed up, we held a "Guess the Weight of the Boob Cake" contest (yes, really!), and ran a sweepstake – raising an incredible £5,324.00 in just two days. Thank you to everyone who joined in!
Alzheimer's Society TREK26 – In Loving Memory
On 1st June 2024, our own Debbie Albion from Technical & Planning took on the Lake District TREK26 in memory of both her parents. Alongside 1,000 walkers, she tackled a tough route – together raising over £450,000 for the Alzheimer's Society.
Pretty Muddy – 5K of Fun (and Mud!)
On 22nd May 2022, Team Oakmere got gloriously messy in Carlisle's Race for Life Pretty Muddy. We climbed A-frames, crawled through tunnels, and heroically fell into mud pits – raising £2,980.00 for Cancer Research UK.
Coniston to Barrow – 21 Miles for a Cause
In July 2020, the team cycled from Whitehaven to Tynemouth – 141 miles, 10,800ft of climbs, and two days of rain – to raise £4,005 for Alzheimer's Research. We arrived at the pier wet, tired, and very proud.
We're always ready for the next challenge – whether it's walking, running, cycling, baking, or just getting muddy for a good cause.
